MICROVAL Approval yeast and mold test!
In June 2023, MicroVal granted approval for MCS Diagnostics’ CertaBlue YM test, designed to swiftly detect yeast and mold contaminations in a broad range of foods. WFC Analytics conducted the validation study based on ISO 16140-2:2016. The test utilizes an AutoScanner System, where an inoculated vial undergoes real-time incubation and monitoring; if growth is detected, the sample fails.
The reference method, ISO 21527-1:2008, established thresholds for microbial levels, employing a qualitative presence/absence approach. The summary report and certificate (2021LR95) are available on the MicroVal website under ‘issued certificates / alternative methods’.
